Heritage Learning Program
STUDENT’S VOICE

Heritage Learning Program (HLP) is a place where I found myself. I improved alot after attending the 3-month course, through this course I gained back my confidence that I lost long back. I have learned how to communicate with others, stand in a crowd and deliver a speech and during these learning process I have improved my English speaking skills too.

Now, I don’t hesitate or hold back to express my feelings, I found my safe space in HLP community where I can be myself and no one judges me for who I am. We allow each other to express, listen to each other and appreciate for being ourselves.

During 7-days workshop with Kasey Kinsella (USA) and Sabin Rongpipi on ‘Mindful Connection and Social Change’, was an amazing experience, I enjoyed learning all the topics of the workshop. The key take-away was learning ‘Non-Violent Communication’, in an activity I realized that I have been Jackal (self-doubt, self judgement, judge others) throughout my life but I realised that I need to be Giraffe (self- empathy, be more empathetic to others). So, that I can have better relations with my dear ones.
Death meditation was another powerful learning that I took with me, during the meditation, I imagined about my life from the day I was born till death, the lesson learned was, no matter what we should always appreciate ourselves and others as we don’t know what our future lies. We should show our love to the people who we are close with, while we are still alive and can see each other. We shouldn’t forget to enjoy every moment as the last day of our lives. Now, I am not afraid of DEATH.

Last but not the least, I recommend HLP to everyone who wants to discover about themselves. You won’t regret joining. Thank you.
