STUDENT’S VOICE
My name is Monica. I am a student, currently an employee at Diphu Medical College & Hospital.
I experienced a fantastic moments during Heritage Learning Program 2018. Every 4 days we focused on a particular topic with an expert instructor. We gained valuable knowledge on topics such as Karbi worldview and Karbi culture. We got the chance to meet many knowledgeable and resourceful people who came as instructors and mentors. It was a privilege to interact with them.
I also had the chance to visit Sardokpo Ronghang Memorial School in Jengkha, West K/A. I had a wonderful experience working with the children. Their purity lightened me up. I learned from the children that in life there will be ups and downs. We can’t escape from it, we have to accept and deal with life cheerfully.
In the final days of the Mindful Connection workshop, I shared my goal to work with children. To achieve this goal, I will volunteer at the orphanage center every week, where I will facilitate meaningful activities and share my knowledge. In the relationship between teacher and student, I now see that the teacher benefits a lot. Through teaching, teachers are able to reinforce their knowledge. By continuing to work with children, I will become more clear and confident in my understanding and ideas for the future.
I would like to recommend HLP to anyone who is not clear about their life vision, because HLLP is a space where you will get ideas to develop yourself. I would like to thank Miss Sabin, Sir DST, Kasey, and all the HLP mentors for their time and support.
